How to renew your CySEC certification for 2023
If you are a CySEC Advanced, CySEC Basic or CySEC AML Compliance Officer certification holder, you must renew your registration by the 28th of February 2023, to remain a Certified Person listed in CySEC’s Certification Registers.
The annual renewal fee is €80 and applicants must confirm within their renewal application that they have completed the continuous professional development (CPD) units required for each certification in 2022. The Certified Persons are required to attend seminars with topics that fall within the relevant legislation which applies to them, and which relate directly to the duties which they will undertake as part of their certification, of a duration of:
- ten (10) hours for persons registered in the CySEC register for the Basic or AML certification
- fifteen (15) hours for persons registered in the CySEC register for the Advanced certification
- fifteen (15) hours for persons registered in the CySEC register for the Basic and AML certification
- twenty (20) hours for persons registered in the CySEC register for the Advanced and AML certification
The renewal application is completed online through CySEC’s website.
Certified Persons that have registered for the first time during 2022 are not required to complete the CPD requirements to be eligible for the 2023 registration renewal.
Certified Persons that do not renew their registration within the deadline are automatically deregistered. Re-registration requests are only applicable within 12 months from the end of the deadline, until the 28th of February 2024, and the re-registration fee is €280.
