On behalf of our client, we are looking for an Executive Director business athlete™ for a full-time role based in Limassol, Cyprus.

Role Description

The successful candidate for the role will be an experienced professional responsible for managing and leading a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF). To successfully fill the Executive Director role, the professional must have a high level of knowledge of the CySEC regulatory framework and have the management skills required to guide the CIF. Furthermore, the role requires a professional with a strategic outlook and understanding of all the activities performed by a CIF.

Duties & responsibilities

The below duties and responsibilities are expected of the Executive Director at the Company:

• Ensures the Company complies with its obligations under the law and is aware of the activities performed by the CIF
• Sets company strategies and ensures continuing operations
• Meets on a frequent basis to discuss operational and strategic issues
• Provides guidance to Senior Management and Heads of the Departments regarding operational and strategic issues
• Ensures to receive on a frequent basis, written reports concerning an internal audit, compliance, AML compliance and risk management, at least annually
• Is aware of the legal framework governing the operations of a CIF
• Commits sufficient time to perform their duties within the CIF
• Acts with honesty, integrity, and independence to effectively assess and challenge the decisions of the senior management
• Oversees and monitors management decision–making when necessary
• Periodically assesses and reviews the effectiveness of policies, arrangements, and procedures
• Addresses any deficiencies
• Addresses any issues raised by the regulators and defines actions to be taken
• Complies with the duties and responsibilities assigned within the CySEC legal framework such as paragraph 5 of the Directive for the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, as well as the provisions of the Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2017, as amended from time to time, the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/565 etc.
• Appoints along with the rest of the BoD, a Compliance Officer and AML Compliance Officer as per the requirements of the applicable legal framework
