SALVUS’ Evdokia Pitsillidou invited again by the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors to deliver a seminar on AML and MiCA

For the 2nd year running, we are delighted to announce our invitation by the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors (Cyprus IIA) to deliver a seminar dedicated to Anti-Money Laundering (AML).

After last year’s successful seminar hosted by the Cyprus IIA and led by our Risk & Compliance Director and Partner, Evdokia Pitsillidou, she has been invited again to share the latest AML regulatory updates focusing on fiat, digital, and crypto assets. In addition to AML, Evdokia will share our view of the new Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework that provisions Crypto-Asset Services Providers (CASP) in Cyprus and the EU.

The seminar will take place on the 13th of September at the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL) between 9:00 – 12:00.

The IIA is the internal audit profession’s leader in standards, certification, education, research, and technical guidance throughout the world. Internal auditing helps organisations accomplish their objectives through a systematic, disciplined approach of evaluating and improving the effectiveness of processes dealing with risk management, control, and governance.

The aim of the seminar is to educate professionals about the different AML risks stemming from fiat, digital, and crypto assets, how to assess these risks and mitigate them effectively. The seminar takes into consideration the latest developments around the national and European anti-money laundering regulatory framework which is crucial in the protection of the integrity of the financial markets.

Furthermore, the seminar is aligned with the Cyprus IIA’s mission of enriching professionals with the knowledge and skills required to add value and improve an organisation’s operations.

The seminar caters toward professional members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and the Cyprus Bar Association (CBA), working in audit and law firms, as well as professionals holding positions at

Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) regulated entities such as:

Upon completion of the seminar, participants will acquire the necessary skills to help enhance company policies, procedures, and to ensure compliance with the latest AML regulatory requirements along 3 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) units.
