Cyprus IIA seminar

SALVUS invited by the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors to deliver seminar on MiFID compliance

For the 3rd year running, we are delighted to announce our invitation by the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors (Cyprus IIA) to deliver a seminar dedicated to the preparation of the annual MiFID Compliance report for the year under review.

After two consecutive fully booked seminars hosted by the Cyprus IIA and led by our Risk & Compliance Director and Partner, Evdokia Pitsillidou, she has been invited yet again to educate professionals based on her experience and expertise.

The seminar will take place on the 2nd of February 2024 at the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL) between 9:00 – 12:00.

The IIA is the internal audit profession’s leader in standards, certification, education, research, and technical guidance throughout the world. Internal auditing helps organisations accomplish their objectives through a systematic, disciplined approach of evaluating and improving the effectiveness of processes dealing with risk management, control, and governance.

The aim of the seminar is to educate professionals on the preparation of the Compliance Annual Report, ensuring alignment with MiFID regulatory standards. It provides detailed information on the report’s specific features, required content, and areas inspected by the Compliance Function throughout the year 2023.

Furthermore, the seminar is aligned with the Cyprus IIA’s mission of enriching professionals with the knowledge and skills required to add value and improve an organisation’s operations.

The seminar caters for professional members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and the Cyprus Bar Association (CBA), working in audit and law firms, as well as professionals holding positions at Cyprus Investment Firms (CIF) regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).

Upon completion of the seminar, participants will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Compliance Officer and the Compliance Function,
  • Comprehend the necessary features of the annual MiFID report,
  • Understand the structure and essential information required within the annual MiFID report,
  • Develop skills in preparing a comprehensive report, focusing on the inspection areas and findings of the Compliance Function for the year under review,
  • Implement valuable reporting tips to ensure a thorough review and approval process by the Board of Directors, ensuring successful submission to the regulator,
  • Enhance annual reports with the key objectives and actions taken to comply with the provisions of each circular issued by CySEC within 2023, based on the firm’s business model, and
  • Obtain a certification granting them 3 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) units.

Thank you to the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors for inviting our Risk & Compliance Director for a second consecutive year to share knowledge and expertise.
