CySEC issues Circular 763: Submission of Sectoral Risk Assessment Form
On March 23, 2026, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) released Circular 763, informing regulated entities on the release of a new reporting obligation, the Sectoral Risk Assessment – SRA.
The purpose of this assessment is to gain a sector-wide understanding of the current AML/CFT control environment.
The form must be submitted via TRS by Friday, April 17, 2026.
Key points of the Circular:
1. Scope of the Sectoral Risk Assessment
- Applies to CIFs, CASPs, MCs, ASPs, and CSPs authorised by December 31, 2025, including those not yet operational.
- Entities holding more than one authorisation must complete a separate Form for each authorisation held.
2. Reporting Period and Reference Date
The data to be reported refers to:
- Reporting period: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025
- Reference date: 31 December 2025
3. Assessment of AML/CFT Controls
- Section B of the Form contains 14 grouped questions assessing the effectiveness of an entity’s AML/CFT controls.
- Each question requires a score of 1 to 10, where “10” reflects the highest level of effectiveness.
- If the question is not applicable, “N/A” must be selected.
4. Technical Submission Rules
- Entities must follow the exact naming convention: TRSUSERNAME_yyyymmdd_SRA-<SECTOR CODE>
- The Excel file must be digitally signed, Validation Tests must display ‘TRUE’ in Green, and a NO ERROR indication must be received upon submission to the TRS.
5. CySEC Support Channels
